Group Therapy
Group therapy for individuals experiencing sight loss
From isolation to resilience

This group provides a safe, inclusive, and empowering therapy space for individuals experiencing sight loss.
We recognise that losing sight, whether gradually or suddenly can profoundly affect emotional wellbeing, independence, identity, and social connection.
This programme is designed to support individuals in navigating these changes within a compassionate and understanding community.
This group:
• Offers a structured yet flexible therapeutic environment where you can openly share your experiences, fears, frustrations, and hopes.
• Guided discussion, peer support, and therapeutic exercises, will encourage group members to explore the emotional impact of sight loss, including grief, anxiety, loss of confidence, and social isolation.
• Elements of person-centred therapy, strengths-based approaches, and peer-led reflection are incorporated to help participants rediscover resilience and rebuild self-esteem.
The group aims to:
• Provide emotional support and reduce feelings of isolation
• Promote coping strategies for adapting to sight loss
• Encourage confidence and independence
• Create opportunities for shared learning and mutual encouragement
• Foster a sense of belonging within a supportive community
Our group is accessible, respectful, and confidential, a space where every voice is heard, and every journey is acknowledged.
While sight loss changes how individuals experience the world, it does not diminish your value, potential, or capacity for connection. Through shared experience and guided therapeutic support, group members are empowered to move from isolation toward resilience, self-advocacy, and renewed confidence.
